Every Child
deserves A VOICE
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the education of children with severe communication and physical disabilities, affecting their ability to speak and move, by increasing awareness of their underestimated potential and elevating the capabilities of families, teachers, and other professionals who work with them.
Foundation news
Every month, CBS 17 picks a different local charity to raise money and awareness for the daily 3-Degree Guarantee. New Voices is the charity for January 2019. Each day when the CBS 17 Storm Team gets the next day’s forecast correct within three degrees, CBS 17 and Allen Kelly & Company donate $100 to New Voices.
BLOG
I wanted to share this post I saw in the QUAT listserv because I was always searching for a way to complete worksheets when my daughter was in school. Technology is a wonderful thing! This was posted by Matt Kennedy on the University of Kentucky's listserv (QUAT):
"A tool I now use all the time is the Microsoft OneDrive app on iPads. Microsoft recently added a "scan" feature which allows for documents to be scanned in just like the Office Lens app, but it will automatically create a PDF and save it to a folder in the OneDrive.
Donate Your Used Equipment
New Voices Foundation is working with the North Carolina AssistiveTechnology Program to provide durable medical equipment (DME) to those in need here in North Carolina. If you have any DME, such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc. in good working condition that you no longer need, please contact Frank Harden via phone 919-859-8360 or email frank.harden@dhhs.nc.gov. Frank is working to identify individuals who are in need and will be compiling a list of available equipment. Once a match is made, you will be contacted and arrangements will be made to get the equipment to the person who needs it. A donation receipt for DME accepted into the reuse program will be provided by New Voices Foundation. Thank you for helping your fellow North Carolinians!
